"Ivory belongs to the Elephants"
SHORT FILM
This short film was created to raise awareness about the devastating impact of illegal ivory poaching. Every year, at least 20,000 African elephants are killed for their tusks. As a result, elephants are evolving to be tuskless, especially in areas affected by civil war and poaching, such as Mozambique. (Sources: worldwildlife.org; npr.org) The film tells the story of two sisters. The younger sister has never seen elephants with tusks because so few remain, while the older sister reminds her that elephants originally had tusks. While the storytelling could have been more refined, this project showcases my ability to work on and execute a film, addressing critical issues like ivory poaching.
